For all the Bachelor Lovers

DISCLAIMER: If you don't like the Bachelor, don't read on. This post is strictly for those who love the weekly drama of multiple women vying for the attention of one nice man who inevitably ends up bawling like a baby from the sheer stress of it all. If that is not for you, then I am pretty sure you will not enjoy this post.

The Bachelor....I love it. It's my favorite show ever! I look forward to every new season with almost a stalker-like enthusiasm. So, be prepared to read about it pretty much weekly.
Jason: is a nice enough guy, and I am glad he has the chance to be the chooser (is that a word?) this time around. (Stupid Deanna-who, speaking of, comes back this season. WOW.)
So, each year I make Mike get more involved than any wife should force their husband to be, but whatever. He and I choose 'our picks' as we like to call them. His pick always gets cut the first night. My pick is always someone that stays around until the end (but I always get my heart broken as they are usually the runner up)
Mike's Pick: Shelby (Who got cut. But I have to admit, I really liked her, too)
My Pick: Natalie

We also pick what we like to call 'The Dark Horse'. The Bachelor follows the same pattern year after year. There is always the girl who, as the show rolls on, becomes obvious that she will make it to the final 2. But then there is 'the dark horse' who it appears he never even talks to until the last 2 episodes and then he picks her to get engaged. I guess it's ABC's way of taking everyone by surprise.
Mike's Dark Horse: Jillian
My Dark Horse: Treasure (who, um, I went to high school with and did not recognize until I read Lizzy's blog! That's Treasure Morgan! And she got cut. BOO JASON!)

So, Since Mike's 'pick' got cut, and my 'dark horse' got cut, we both got to pick again. ( Hey, it's our game, so we make the rules.)
Mike's new Pick: Lauren (I really like her too, I had a hard time decided between her and Natalie for my first pick)

My new Dark Horse: Eva Mendez. Oh, I mean Naomi. But doesn't she look so much like Eva?

A few things to mention. First, there were a few 'What the HECK' people that he kept. Why? Why?
Mean girl: Erika. She isn't nice, and she was really catty. Why would he choose her over Shelby?
Salsa girl: Shannon. I have no words for this. He could have kept Treasure but THIS is who he kept. Stupid.

Another girl to mention: Molly. For some reason, she bugs me. Not so much that I want her gone, because actually I think she will go really far. I think he likes her. But, I don't know, there is something about her.....

Megan- Shut up about the mommy bond, Megan. That's why all the non-kid girls voted you the least compatible.

I think that she could have smoothed things over if she had not called them all Bi-otches in front of Jason. SMART MOVE, honey.

The First Impression Rose girl: Nikki. Eh, she's pretty and all, but I don't know if I see her going far. She seems nice enough.

Deanna- Will apparetnly be making an appearance soon. GO HOME DEANNA. You had your chance, and you chose JESSIE!!!!!!!! ! ! ! !
Lastly, I have to mention Stephanie. I literally cried for this girl, I feel so awful for her. She seems SO sweet and so genuine. But I can't help but think that she looks old enough to be his mom... It's not like, wrinkly type old, just really mature looking, I guess....

Okay, so if you made it to the end....then you must be a Bachelor fan too. Or you think I am totally psychotic. But if you are a fan, let's be fans together because I love to dish about the Bachelor!

This is making me laugh so hard and I didn't even watch it. Now I am!!!!! I didn't know Eva Mendes was going to be on it!!!! Go girl!

Great post. I watched the show as well. You pretty much hit the nail on the head about all of the girls (especially Stephanie). I think the girl I like is the one in the leopard dress. I think her name is Lauren. And last but not least, Deanna needs to get a grip her 15 minutes of fame were spent a long time ago. The show had to throw here in for the drama, but I hope he kicks her sorry butt out! Thanks for fun post.

yes! i love your bachelor posts. i swear i said half of that to my mom last night. wasn't it sad when they showed him crying? they made it look like deanna pushed him over the edge. and i also said the thing about that girl looking like his mom. i thought he picked some kinda weird girls but let's be honest, i'm hooked :) can't wait to read your other posts

Loved this post! Tom says now I should only make him read your weekly update and not make him watch "this sick show!" I love it! We want to be in on the betting! and we HATE Deanna too!

Okay so I read the whole blog mainly because I totally missed the first episode! So thanks for recapping it all for me!

I agree with you...GO HOME DEANNA! I loved you in the Bachelor and the first part of Bachelorette but now that the wedding is off with you and Jessie-you are just as pathetic as Brad. (was that his name?)

LOVE this post! Genious - she really does look like Eva Mendes. And I can barely talk about how bugged I am about Deanna coming back...what the crap is going on? Can't wait to read the rest of your posts.

Ok this is my first season watching but I was intrigued (sp) enough by the fact that he was a single dad, and I liked the music...so I love your picks that's hilarious what you do to Mike. I'll come up with some picks. You should start like a pool and see who wins at the end.

LOL about Eva Mendes!! I totally thought the same thing! No commentary about Shannon? C'mon, Joy!! ;) I can't stand her! I think he'll keep her around for a while though. I think she looks a lot like Deanna. Seems like in the previews of the proposal at the end the girl looks like she has brown hair. So I guess we can say goodbye to all the blondes?

oh boy...I am so with you on the whole bachlore boat! Some of my highlights of the night had to be the crazy hygenist/cyber stalker...who know his brothers girlfriends name....what! Oh and were you not silently cheering(ok- I wasnt silent, more cheering out load at the TV)that he didnt keep "Dom". And the girl that tried to make him use his golf swing and he quickly shut her down-oh boy. And about the mother figure-I loke her but can you really see Jason living in that house made of gold with her-me either.Anyway...I'm excited to watch the rest of the season too!

Yea, The Bachelor!! I Love this show but I told myself that after last season, when I was so depressed (stupid) Deanna let Jason go, that I wouldn't watch it anymore. It gets me in this mood that drives Gordon nuts! But...when I found out that Jason was the new Bachelor I HAD to watch! Sorry Gordon :) I love this post and feel the same way about all the girls. So sad he let Shelby go and kept Erika. I bet ABC told him he has to keep some drama in the house..haha.

Joy,
Loved this post-and so happy that I could get on your blog again-
I too enjoy the Bachelor. I am disappointed that he didn't choose Treasure, but knew she wouldn't go far, because she didn't get nearly enough tv time. I like Treasure, so maybe it's better she doesn't have to get all catty with this crazy women dying for Jason's proposal. I feel like based on the previews he is going to choose someone with an olive complextion and dark hair. I will die if DeAnna wins her way back to Jason's heart.
Thanks for this great Bachelor post.

I love it! I hate that I can't watch it living down here. ABC won't let anyone outside of the country watch full episodes on the internet. Don't worry, they have already received a scathing email from me.
I love Jason and am so bummed I can't watch it! I will just have to read your blog every week!

OHHHH my gosh Joy!!! This is killing me~ I have looked at Treasure and thought, man that nose is interesting and familiar. :) I totally played tennis with her back in the day!!! Whoaaaa so crazy. Now I totally recognize her too. Yeah, Deanna was dumb that she didn't pick this dude.
